Cassandra Alexa
Cassandra Alexa is a director and screenwriter. Cassandra is a Mexican American woman from Everman, Texas. Cassandra recently received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film & Television with a Concentration in Directing and a Minor in Screenwriting from DePaul University. She is located in Texas, California, New York, and Illinois. God, her family, and friends serve as her life’s foundation.
Cassandra Alexa's short film “High Functioning (Proof of Concept)” is in its festival run and is planned to be expanded into a feature film. The logline for the Proof of Concept is: After their biggest drug deal yet, Jordyn is pressured by her best friend Ruby to party with their cut, only to end up with serious consequences.
She recently worked as a talent management intern at Venture Entertainment in West Hollywood.
Cassandra Alexa's mission is to create film and music projects and a future film and music studio in Texas that focus on the representation of diverse and marginalized groups and their industry and personal prosperity, activism, awareness, and charity on social/ world issues, love and empathy, and combatting prevalent industry issues, which are all fueled by her faith in God and are a part of her mission to make the world a better place.
She strives to create authentic and fun roles for BIPOC (with a focus on Latino/ Hispanic, Black, and Indigenous representation) and other marginalized groups (women, trans, non-binary, LGBTQ+, disabled, neurodivergent, lower-income, immigrant, and body-size-or-look-marginalized communities, etc.) on screen and behind the camera and highlight similarly diverse musicians.
Cassandra Alexa’s directing style is based on empathy, connection, emotion, and intuition, focusing on representation and activism, with the flare of her signature psychedelic and glam aesthetics.
Cassandra creates films in all genres and is always open to new projects, ideas, and adventures.
Cassandra loves creating comedy (stoner, raunchy, party, young adult/teen, and buddy comedies), psychedelic, and drama films. Many of her films are in the vein of movies like 21 Jump Street, Blockers, Superbad, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Silver Linings Playbook, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, When Harry Met Sally, or Elf.
