Cassandra Alexa

Cassandra Alexa is a director, actress, singer/rapper/songwriter, and screenwriter. She is also the Founder/CEO (with a Creative Development Role) of Heart ERA, a film & music studio and activism organization.

Cassandra is a Mexican Indigenous American woman from Everman, Texas. Cassandra received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film & Television with a Concentration in Directing and a Minor in Screenwriting from DePaul University. She is located in Fort Worth, Texas.

God, her family, and her friends are central to her life.

Cassandra Alexa's mission is to create film and music that uplift marginalized communities and create social change.

Through any format of her art, her key focuses are empathy, representation, activism, and education.

Cassandra’s work is inspired by her leftist and socialist values that carry decolonial, stewardship-based, cultural, and anti-capitalist frameworks.

Her relationship with God fuels her desire to make the world a better place, loving others as she loves herself.

Cassandra Alexa's latest films are her short film High Functioning (Proof of Concept) , which was screened in the Roma Short Film Festival and received an honorable mention at the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival, and a commercial titled Cidercade- Cousinly Competition Commercial, which was a client project. The logline for the Proof of Concept is: After their biggest drug deal yet, Jordyn is pressured by her best friend Ruby to party with their cut, only to end up with serious consequences.

Cassandra’s first album “the psychedelic introspection.”, features 16 songs with 7 music videos, which she directed, starred in, and costume/makeup-designed.

She is the Founder/CEO (with a Creative Development Role) of Heart ERA, a film & music studio and activism organization.

She recently worked as a talent management intern at Venture Entertainment in West Hollywood.

Founded by Cassandra Alexa, Heart ERA is a film & music studio and activism organization, consisting of three divisions: Heart ERA Studios (film division), Heart ERA Music (music division), and Heart ERA Wolf Flowers (activism & research division). Cassandra Alexa’s directing style is based on empathy, connection, emotion, and intuition, focusing on representation and activism, with the flair of her signature psychedelic and glam aesthetics. 

Cassandra creates films in all genres and is always open to new projects, ideas, and adventures.

Cassandra loves creating comedy (stoner, raunchy, party, young adult/teen, and buddy comedies), psychedelic, and drama films. Many of her films are in the vein of movies like 21 Jump Street, Blockers, Superbad, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Silver Linings Playbook, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, When Harry Met Sally, or Elf.

Cassandra Alexa is a singer/ rapper/ songwriter, specializing in (psychedelic) hip-hop, pop, indie, and Latin. Her music is in the vein of A$AP Rocky, Charli XCX, Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, Lana Del Rey, and Childish Gambino.

Cassandra is currently receiving acting training through Cathryn Sullivan’s Acting for Film- Drama School. She has completed four classes so far:
1- Basic Camera Skills
2- Emotional Depth: Rage, Terror, and Desperation
3- Cold Reading
4- Listening, Reacting, and Being Affected

Skills she’s developed so far include emotional recall, crying on cue, internal monologue, cold reading, listening, and character development.

As an actress, Cassandra Alexa becomes the character, engaging in listening, being present in the scene, and understanding what the character needs, wants, and feels.

For Cassandra, acting is an opportunity to continuously grow empathy, to dive deeper into connecting with her own emotions, and to get to know herself more every day.

She loves acting in any genre of film. 

She is interested in authentic and fun roles for BIPOC.

Genres she enjoys include comedy, drama, psychedelic, romance, horror/ thriller, family, coming-of-age, sci-fi, and gangster.

Cassandra Alexa is a fashion/costume and makeup designer and artist. She specializes in glam and experimental looks but is passionate about all fashion and makeup.
